What I Noticed about Shady Rays Sunglasses
After just four months of gentle use—stored in a separate case and worn primarily while driving or enjoying time outdoors with my kids—these glasses started peeling. It’s baffling why the coating deteriorated so quickly. Despite reaching out to Shady Rays, their solution involves a lengthy process: finding my order, sending a return envelope, shipping the glasses back for lens replacement, and waiting for them to return. Frankly, it’s a hassle. I recommend exploring other options for sunglasses with better durability.
Adverse Reactions of Shady Rays
- Overpriced
- Low quality
- Coating peels off

They were fine at first, but over time the temples start to peel and became scratchy. Also the lens started to separate.

It looks cloudy on the lower part of the lens and are not clear anymore. Cannot be worn because you can’t see through them.
The frame started bubbling shortly after I got them and after 2 months the coating was falling off. The lenses seem plastic and cheap. I really expected more from these for $45. I have a $10 pair of sunglasses I got from a brewery 2 years ago that are in much better shape.
